Introduction

There are quite a few open source dashboard apps and many of them seem to have more bells and whistles than Heimdall. It is certainly not the most popular dashboard if Youtube is anything to go by, but it is certainly the one that I have stuck with and suits my needs.

It was easy to work with right out of the box. The app was up and running without a hitch. It looks very clean. You can change the background as you wish and customise many other settings. It was easy to stick a login page on it and links to the apps and sites I want. I even use it as the home page on my current browser.

On my Heimdall dashboard, I have buttons linked to nearly all the websites and apps I mostly use. For some reason I have all the buttons sorted alphabetically. I did mess around with tags and extra dashboards, but I went back to the plain one and only dashboard with all its default settings. With the exception of the internet 'search bar', I removed that. Just didn't need it.

There isn't much more to say about it, after all it is only a dashboard, so below I have added a screenshot of part of my own:
